OFFICE 2007 - OPERATE A WORD PROCESSING APPLICATION

At the completion of this course you should be able to: work with the basic features of Word; create a new document; open, navigate, preview and count the words in a document and understand how a document is presented on the screen; select and work with text in a document; cut and copy information within and between documents; use a range of font formatting techniques; format paragraphs; create and apply styles; create and work with various types of tabs; work effectively with features that affect the page layout of your document; create and modify tables; create and use templates in your documents; use the Mail Merge Wizard to perform mail merges; insert and work with pictures; and print a document.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS

This course requires Microsoft Office 2007 - Word.


WHEN YOU ARE READY TO BEGIN

Step 1: Ensure your Practice Files are installed on your personal computer. We recommend that you make a new Folder on your Desktop and name it Word Processing. Click on the link to each File in the following table. When the file opens, select the 'Save As' option and save it to your applicable folder. Do not change the file name, so that you can locate the correct file when your workbook instructs you to open it.

Step 5: Open the Test on your personal computer and enter your name in the box provided. Complete your answers and save the document.

Step 6: Click on this email link mvcc@mvcc.org.au to forward your Test Answer Sheet as an attachment - don't forget to attach your saved file! Please ensure that you enter a subject heading in the email (Eg. Office 2007 - Operate a Word Processing Application - Test OWPA07-01). We will provide you with feedback upon receipt of each Test and will mail the Student Notes for the next Chapter to you.
