OFFICE 2003 - OPERATE A WORD PROCESSING APPLICATION

At completion of this course, you should be able to: find your way around the Microsoft Word 2003 screen; open, save and close documents and understand how documents are presented on the screen; create a new document; select and work with text in a document; format text in a document; create and modify a style, and apply a style to text in a document; create and use tabs, stops and leaders; use the various page settings in Word; create tables of figures and text; create, modify and use Word templates; manage documents efficiently; create the documents required for a merge, perform a merge and create mailing labels; insert and work with pictures, images and charts; and print a document.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS

This course requires Microsoft Office 2003 - Word.


WHEN YOU ARE READY TO BEGIN

Step 1: Ensure your Practice Files are installed on your personal computer. We recommend that you make a new Folder on your Desktop and name it Word Processing. Click on the link to each File in the following table. When the file opens, select the 'Save As' option and save it to your applicable folder. Do not change the file name, so that you can locate the correct file when your workbook instructs you to open it.

Step 5: Open the Test on your personal computer and enter your name in the box provided. Complete your answers and save the document.

Step 6: Click on this email link mvcc@mvcc.org.au to forward your Test Answer Sheet as an attachment - don't forget to attach your saved file! Please ensure that you enter a subject heading in the email (Eg. Office 2003 - Operate a Word Processing Application - Test OWPA03-01). We will provide you with feedback upon receipt of each Test and will mail the Student Notes for the next Chapter to you.
